My work life revolves around teaching prenatal and parenting classes with the Ottawa Childbirth Education Association for the last 20 years. I love working with new families and learning as much as possible to help the transition to family life, either as a La Leche League Leader, CAPPA breastfeeding counsellor, Postpartum Doula or Car Seat Technician. You can find me facilitating workshops at the Ontario Early Years Centres throughout the Ottawa area on normal newborn and toddler sleep. I am a registered Social Service Worker and am completing a M.ed for Healthcare Professionals at the U of O.
My next infant sleep class is running on Thursday mornings, October 3-24, 2019. You can register here . I will be speaking at the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre on October 3, 2019, register here
My personal life revolves around four wonderful teen aged children (including twins) aged 16, 16, 18 and 21 and a few fur babies. In my spare time, I am an avid knitter, runner and bagpiper. My goal is to empower each family with the supports that allow them to learn what you have control over and what you do not, how to reframe expectations, mobilize your supports system to their fullest, and to have each family find joy in every day!
